Former RPD officer gets 10 weekends jail for rape of 13-year-old
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Does the punishment fit the crime? that’s what some people are asking after a former Rochester Police officer who raped a 13-year-old was sentenced.
Shawn Jordan was sentenced Wednesday to 10 weekends in jail and 10 years probation. He pleaded guilty to raping the teen in 2022 in South Bristol.
Shawn Jordan also was sentenced to 10 years probation under an initial plea agreement. Jordan pleaded guilty earlier this year to raping the girl in 2022 in South Bristol.
The mother of the now 15-year-old girl begged Ontario County Judge Kristina Karle to send her daughter’s rapist to prison, but the judge accepted the plea agreement.
