
New Delhi: An air hostess was arrested for allegedly smuggling close to one kilogramme of gold from Muscat to Kannur by hiding it in her rectum, according to a source from the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI). Acting on specific intelligence from DRI Cochin, officers from DRI Kannur intercepted Surabhi Khatun, a Kolkata native and cabin crew member, upon her arrival from Muscat at Kannur International Airport on May 28.
During a personal search, officers found 960 grams of gold in compound form concealed in her rectum, the source further said.
