SAPPORO — A 69-year-old man in this northern Japan city may have double good luck coming his way as he has found a rare eight-leaf clover.

Part-time worker Yuichi Sasaki called the Mainichi Shimbun in mid-May, saying, “I found a rare eight-leaf clover.” He continued, “I called because I wanted to share my happiness with everyone.”

When this reporter visited Sasaki’s home, the white clover with its leaves — a small one and seven large ones — tightly overlapped was in a glass. He smiled and said, “I was surprised.”
