
EDGARTOWN, Mass. (WFSB) – A man from Massachusetts is facing charges after he ran a large boat aground on Chappaquiddick Island.
Troopers from the State Police-Oak Bluffs Barracks responded to the incident around 9:40 p.m. on May 31st.
They arrived at the beach and found a stranded vessel, which was identified as a 43-foot Hinckley Sport Boat 40C.
They spoke to two men who said they were on the boat when it crashed, claiming that a navigational error caused the accident.

Troopers say the boat’s operator, 32-year-old Riley Blizard of Cotuit, Mass., showed signs of impairment.
