FARGO — One man got his day in court for charges related to his refusal to leave his home of 35 years when the city of Fargo ordered it demolished.
Danial Curtis lived at 924 5th St. S. in Fargo until Jan. 2023, when the city deemed the house too dangerous to live in and tore it down.
Despite a court order, Curtis refused to leave the house and had to be carried out by six officers the morning of the demolition, court records say.
On Friday, April 5, a jury found Curtis guilty of three class B misdemeanors for two counts of violating a dangerous building notice and one count of resisting a police officer.
“I got railroaded,” Curtis said in court on April 4. “I’m getting railroaded here.”
