
HENAGAR, Ala. (WAFF) – Henagar was one of the hardest hit areas in the storms that barreled through the area late Wednesday and early Thursday.
One homeowner told WAFF that when the storms hit, he took shelter in his chimney. The man, who didn’t want to go on camera, said when the storms passed, he came out and all he could see was the sky above him.
Other than being a bit sore, the man said he’s doing fine.
Jackson County EMA Director Paul Smith said the total amount of damage in the area is uncertain at this time.
Smith said some Henagar residents were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
