
BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A candidate for West Virginia Secretary of State has been in the hospital after being bitten by a couple of copperhead snakes Wednesday while taking down campaign signs.
Doug Skaff was taking down the signs near Route 119 in Danville in Boone County when he says he was bitten on the foot and leg.
Skaff was taken to CAMC and tells WSAZ his leg has been burning, and he’s been in tremendous pain.
Skaff used to be the minority leader in the West Virginia House of Delegates and came up short Tuesday in his bid for Secretary of State.
He was with his 7-year-old son Wednesday when he was bitten.
He’s expected to remain in the hospital a couple more days as…
