Northern Lights spectacle anticipated tonight, May 10th and 11th, 2024 (KVII).
AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) —
A large group of Coronal Mass Ejections (CME) are expected to hit the earth’s atmosphere Friday night into Saturday morning.
According to the Space Weather Prediction Center, “Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) are large expulsions of plasma and magnetic field from the Sun’s corona. They can eject billions of tons of coronal material and carry an embedded magnetic field.”

When this plasma and magnetic field hit the earth’s atmosphere, they make protons and electrons diffuse and create small auroras (small dose of light)…
