
MISHAWAKA, Ind. (WNDU/Gray News) – For parents, the first week of school is already stressful enough. But one parent of a student in Indiana got quite a surprise.
Megan Link was at home earlier Wednesday afternoon when her 5-year-old daughter, who was supposed to be at Beiger Elementary School in Mishawaka, walked through the front doors of their home.
“All of a sudden, my daughter is 5 and a half, just walks through the door and says, ‘Hi mom, I’m home,’ and I said, ‘What are you doing here?’” Link recalled.
That’s the question any parent would ask their child who is supposed to be at school, but it wasn’t the only question Link had. How did her daughter make it home, and why was she not notified?
