
SHASTA LAKE, Calif. — There’s a mystery a-foot up at Shasta Lake. A prosthetic leg was found in the lake last Friday, and now the Northstate News is helping look for the owner.
“Well I’ve been diving in this lake for 10 years,” says Bradley Hewitt, the man who found the leg. “I’ve found generators. Cellphones, wallets, keys.”
Hewitt runs Scuba Diver LLC out of Bridge Bay at Shasta Lake. He says while he’s found several items while diving, this find came from a bit of dumpster diving.
“This was sticking up out of the dumpster as we were bringing it over to have it trashed out,” he says. “And I was like ‘What the heck why would there be a prosthetic leg in there.’”
