Donald Trump’s shooter had explosive devices in his car, according to authorities.
The car, driven by Thomas Matthew Crooks, was parked near to the rally. The 20-year-old has been identified as the shooter who killed one person and shot the former president while he was on stage.
He used a gun bought by his father to carry out the shooting, which law enforcement are trying to work out the motive behind.
The incident occurred in Pennsylvania during a campaign rally for the Republican nominee, who afterwards said God “prevented the unthinkable from happening”.
Federal authorities are treating it as an assassination attempt after Crooks, who was shot dead by Secret Service agents, fired shots at the former president from a nearby roof.
