Feminists protesting new Scottish hate speech laws have been abused by pro-trans activists.
Women marching in Edinburgh against Humza Yousaf’s new legislation, which prominent critics including JK Rowling warned could criminalise airing gender-critical beliefs, including the view that men cannot change their sex, clashed with pro-transgender counter-demonstrators, it has been claimed.

One sign read “trans dogs bite terfs”. The term terfs is widely used by transgender campaigners to describe women who oppose the view that gender is unfixed and can change according to how people self-identify.
