Donald Trump’s ex-lawyer Michael Cohen testified in Manhattan court on Tuesday that he submitted phoney invoices for legal services to cover up what were, in fact, reimbursements for a hush-money payment to pornographic actor Stormy Daniels on his then-boss’s behalf.
In stunningly matter-of-fact testimony, Cohen told jurors that these repayments began shortly after an 8 February 2017 meeting with Trump in the Oval Office, where they discussed the money.
“So, I was sitting with President Trump and he asked me if I was OK, he asked me if I needed money, and I said, ‘No, [I’m] OK,’” Cohen recalled. “He said, ‘All right, just make sure you deal with Allen.’”
