
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The smell of livestock waste is not unusual in farm country, but there’s concern that the odor coming from Cass County is far worse than normal.
The landowner disagrees, but he faces more than the scrutiny of his neighbors.
Huge piles that started to be trucked onto this Cass County property in June left surrounding landowners saying that they had no choice but to become nosy neighbors.
“You can’t do a barbecue and you can’t invite people over,” Neighbor Jeff Horacek said. “It’s like a dead carcass rotting in the sun sitting in your back yard. I mean, it stinks.”
And neighbors say the odor isn’t all that’s in the air, and that raises health concerns.
