
Meteorologists could run out of names for the first time in what’s predicted to be an “explosive” hurricane season that could have devastating impacts on the US.
The World Meteorological Organization prepares about 21 names for Atlantic tropical storms each year.
But this year, AccuWeather predicts there could be as many as 25 Atlantic storms, including up to six that may directly impact the US. As many as 12 of them could reach the wind speeds required to be classified as “hurricanes.”
