Keir Starmer is not messing around when it comes to selecting his cabinet, according to Labour’s national campaign chief.
Pat McFadden said he expects the job ‘to be done by the end of today’.
He told Radio 4’s Today programme: ‘Certainly the whole Cabinet. That Cabinet will meet tomorrow.
‘And he will have to quickly allocate those responsibilities, give his new Cabinet their marching orders and then there’s big international events coming.’
Of course, Starmer had his Shadow Cabinet, and it will be easy enough to just move them over into the proper Cabinet.
But there are one or two problems with that. One, Shadow Paymaster General Jonathan Ashworth, and two, Shadow Culture Secretary Thangam Debbonaire.
Both just lost…
