EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – One of Evansville’s Halloween staples will have a new home this fall.
The Old Courthouse Catacombs haunted attraction has lived in the basement of the former Vanderburgh County Courthouse for years.
In an update posted on their website, officials say the attraction will move the underground catacombs beneath the House of Lector on Main Street.
The House of Lector is a companion attraction to the Old Courthouse Catacombs.
This move will see them share the space this year.
According to Vanderburgh County Commissioner Justin Elpers, elevated levels of radon in the courthouse subbasement forced the move this year.
Elpers says plans are being worked on to fix the radon issue.
