PROVO, Utah (KUTV) — Several people were injured during the opening ceremonies of the Stadium of Fire event at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo.
Spokesperson Janna-Lee Holland with the Provo Police Department said the incident happened just after the jet flyover Thursday.
The Stadium of Fire is an annual event held on the football stadium at Brigham Young University. The 2024 show featured the Jonus Brothers.
Holland said fireworks shot into the stands and injured multiple people. The exact number and severity of injuries was not available.
Video from the scene showed at least two fireworks shoot into the performers on the field, and another two shoot into the east stands where several people were watching.
