
DOUGLAS, Ga. (WALB) – On Tuesday morning, a loaded pistol magazine was found on Westside Elementary School grounds.
According to Coffee County Schools Superintendent Morris Leis, an 8-year student has admitted to bringing the loaded pistol magazine to the school.
Coffee County Schools resource officers said they found the magazine in a trashcan in the boy’s restroom. The school was not placed on lockdown, but officials did search the school and found no weapon.
Leis said administrators will be taking disciplinary actions against the student, but he can’t discuss what exactly the disciplinary actions are.
