


Donald Trump has refused to take part in a debate with Kamala Harris, branding her a “Marxist fraud” after she became the Democrats’ presumptive presidential nominee when Joe Biden quit the race.
The first female US vice-president – seeking to make history again in November – has enjoyed a groundswell of support from labour groups, ethnic minorities and her own party since announcing her 11th-hour candidacy.
